The Cemetery of San Jos\u00e9 in Granada<\/strong> is of great historical significance as it\u2019s the second oldest cemetery in Spain<\/strong>, dating back to 1805. However, it has adapted to the population and its needs by way of expansions and refurbishments over the years. In the surrounding area, you can find the tombs of some figures who have been of importance<\/strong> to the city of Granada, including Enrique Morente<\/a>, Gallego Bur\u00edn, \u00c1ngel Ganivet<\/a>, Emilio Herrera <\/a>or Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez Acosta.<\/p>\n

The Cemetery of San Jos\u00e9 forms part of the Alhambra<\/strong> historic complex<\/strong><\/a>, as it\u2019s located in the Dehesa del Generalife<\/a> (Generalife meadow). It\u2019s also close to another more well-known monument known as the Silla del Moro<\/a>. However, the cemetery in Granada doesn\u2019t tend to be as well-known as other monuments, nor is it included in the itineraries of those who come to visit Granada.<\/p>\n
